We live in a world where time is real.
In the real world there is no such thing as a “finished” infinity. There is no such thing as a boundary with no “holes”… a complete “manifold” of “fixed points”. That “Platonic universe” may be a useful fiction for some purposes, but it is just that, a fiction and an impediment to a critical understanding. To deny that we live in a world with a past, present and future yet to be determined is to think it’s OK to live a fantasy. That mindset is toxic. By far the vast majority of problems we face are of our own making…mental and not “physical”. We have been and still are mostly endangered by our own kind.
Distinct clock domains complicate interaction and observation, but time is real nonetheless. The exchange of information between domains is describable and calculable.
Distinct belief systems complicate communication and cooperation, yet the exchange of information and a coordination of efforts is desirable, possible and manageable. What is required is an open mind. The only “perfectly impermeable boundary” is the closed mind….a mind dominated by the “mind projection fallacy,” E.T. Jaynes (…”the world is what we think it is”).
